Acrolyte

Acrolyte is a 2D action-adventure platformer which brings the player through vast, mysterious alien landscapes. Awaken from your dying rest in an endless pursuit of revenge against ancient forces beyond your own comprehension.

Key Features

  • 360 Degree Free-Aim: Use the mouse or a controller to aim and fire in any direction, for fast paced precise combat
  • Fluid Movement: Master the art of momentum in a world designed for precision platforming.

  • Atmospheric World-Building: Explore hauntingly beautiful environments, from glowing fungal forests to decaying mechanical ruins.

  • Ancient Combat: Engage in high-stakes encounters with cosmic horrors using a versatile ability system.

Linux Compatibility & Performance

As a game still in development, Acrolyte shows great promise for the Linux gaming community. During our initial tests:

  • Performance: Extremely stable frame rates even on integrated graphics (Intel® UHD Graphics 620 and better).

  • Compatibility: Runs flawlessly via Proton (Experimental) / Native build (if available).

  • Controller Support: Steam Deck and Xbox controllers are recognized out of the box but tested with Logitech F710 which works perfectly with the game on Linux.

The developer, Cyber Komodo, is focusing on a "gameplay-first" approach. In a sea of generic platformers, Acrolyte stands out with its oppressive, yet mesmerizing atmosphere and tight controls. It feels like a love letter to titles like Hollow Knight and Metroid, but with its own unique, "low-fi" sci-fi aesthetic.
